Will you be the one taking the photos at our wedding?
Absolutely!

What is your primary style?
I think my style is a mix of styles! My number one priority is to capture the essence and the story of the couple and of their wedding day. I’m relaxed, very creative and highly visual, I love capturing candid moments, I have some photojournalist traits, with a little tiny touch of traditional. One aspect that sets me apart is that I have a unique, fashion oriented approach to photography.

What type of camera do you use?
I use all Canon equipment. My main camera and my back-up camera are the same, the Canon 5D Mark ii (Digital SLR). I always have both at any wedding to ensure that if something happens to one, I would still have the other.

Do you use an assistant? Is there an extra charge for this?
I always have a non-shooting assistant with me in every wedding at no extra charge. A second shooter can be added to your package for a fee.

Will there be backup equipment available?
Yes. I always take two camera bodies to every wedding I shoot. As well as many different lenses, CF cards, etc.

Can other people take photos while you are taking photos?
Yes. However they need to be mindful and not get in the way of the pictures I am trying to capture. I don’t allow family or friends to come along for the bridal images for privacy purposes.

If my wedding/event last longer than scheduled, will you stay? Is there an extra charge?
Yes, I will stay. You can add extra hours to your package for $400/hour.

How many photos will you take?
I usually take an average of 50-100 pictures per hour.

What types of photos will be taken (B/W, Color, Antiques, etc..)?
I shoot all in color, and add BW, Sepia, other effects during post-production. If you have a preference please let me know and I’ll make sure to add more of whatever you like. The online gallery also allows you to turn prints to BW before printing.

Will you accept a list for specific photos to be taken?
Other than formal family groupings, no. I do want you to hire me because you like my style and trust my judgment of what should be captured. Following a list takes away from my creativity and my photojournalistic approach to photography.

How long after the event will the proofs be ready?
Your online gallery should be ready in 4 weeks. Album design and some other products may take longer, about 8 weeks.

What type and how much assistance will you provide in planning my album?
I love to design albums! People come to me because I am creative so I will give all the assistance you need. I can fully design your album, present it to you, and then make whatever changes you feel are necessary before we send to print.

Will you give a CD with all the pictures or is there an extra charge for that?
You will get a CD with all your high-resolution images and print release. However, Poly Mendes Photography will still hold copyright over the images.

Do you have liability insurance?
Absolutely!

Is my wedding the only one you will be shooting that day?
Yes.

Are you willing to customize a package if none of yours fits our needs?
Without a doubt!

What happens if you are ill?
I have a network of other photographers I can go to who are available for emergency. I have to say I have never had to cancel on anything, even a portrait shoot, because of being sick. I am as healthy as it gets. But if (God forbid) it were to happen, I would either find you a suitable, competent replacement, or return your deposit (and whatever else you have paid me) in full. This is also written in my contract.

Do you provide a written contract and guarantee?
Yes, when we meet for the wedding consultation we will go over the contract and I will answer any questions you might have.

Can I take a copy of the contract home with me to read before I sign it?
The contract is online so you can look at it whenever you want. And please call or e-mail me if you have any questions.

Is a retainer required? If so, how much?
Yes. A retainer and signed contract will hold your date. The minimum retainer is $1000.00. However, I recommend a retainer of half of the package price you choose. The balance will be due 10 days before your wedding/event.

What percentage are the taxes?
7.775% sales taxes will be added to all services and products.

Is gratuity included in the price?
No, it is not included but also not necessary. If you feel you must, I won’t object.
